The original owner of the house had a sawmill in which he cut his own lumber to build the house. Since then it has been remodeled on the inside, while keeping it's original look. The outside still has it's original cypress wood from when it was first built. However, it has been painted. It has a front porch with a view of the river along with a pier directly across the street. The house also has an added sunroom which looks into a cypress swamp.
